I am so behind in getting our home ready for the holidays! This year I’m going with a white and gold color scheme and I am really liking the simplicity of the neutral (yet sparkly) decor. I thought I’d share a bit of what I’ve managed to get done: my rustic white & gold holiday mantel decor.
On Monday I shared how I made this DIY Glitter Sled, and I decided the best place for it is up on the mantel. HH and I had quite the negotiations about how to get it up there and how to properly secure it. It isn’t exactly how I envisioned it, but it’s close enough. (Besides, it’s Christmas… better to practice peace on earth and goodwill to men. That was not the hill I wanted to die on.)
The wreath is a simple fake evergreen wreath that you can pick up at any craft store for less than $5. A bag of white feathers tucked into the leaves and it has a whole new look. (With little effort or expense.)
There’s a part of me that thinks it’s a little on the sick side to incorporate antlers into my holiday decor. All apologies to Rudolph and the team, but I think they look pretty cool up there, so we’re going to go with it.
I always fluff up artificial garland with real greenery, and then I just make sure to have lots of gold and white decor all through the house.
It doesn’t need to be complicated. Just pick a color or two and stick with it. Happy holidays!
