You guys know that I like wine, right? I might have mentioned that a time or two five. I even managed to use all the wine…. even the corks
and the bottles. If I were a hunter, you could say that nothing goes to waste…
I have a lot of friends who love wine as much as I do, and with holiday shopping season soon to be underway, I wanted to share a few gift ideas. One of my favorite places to shop is Uncommon Goods. I love the very unique inventory, and I adore some of the company philosophies that they have. (I’ll get to that later. )
So wine gifts… Some of my best times are hanging out having a glass of wine with my girlfriends. Does anyone else have impromptu wine and cheese with neighbors? If I had a nickel for each time I’ve bumped into a neighborhood girlfriend at the grocery store and we said “Let’s meet up at my house at 5:00!” I could afford a really stellar bottle of wine. How about something fun to go with wine hour?
I love this ampersand cheese and cracker board! How fun is this? You will find all sorts of ideas for gifts for women here on the Uncommon Goods site.
There are fun wine glasses, decanters, all sorts of really great bar tools. If you can’t find a great gift here, then there is something wrong with you. Each time I turn to the site for shopping, I have to remind myself that I am shopping for gifts and not for me, because I pretty much love everything. What if you want to take things a bit further and personalize your gifts? There are many options here.
But this? I. Must. Have. This.
For. Me.
I want this. It will need to read “Wagner” of course, but how awesome is this?! Not into wine? Not a problem. You might also be into jewelry, sculpture, artwork or home decor in general. You’ll find plenty of that here as well. I love the unique inventory and the one of a kind, custom items I can find. Those times when you’re looking to really give a special gift? I look to Uncommon Goods.
And yes, they provide a great shopping experience, but I also love that they are a socially responsible company. They’ve been around since 1999 and they do their best to pay their employees really great wages. Their lowest paid temporary/seasonal workers in their Brooklyn warehouse are still paid about 50% more than minimum wage. They provide a platform for artists and designers, and more than half of the inventory on their site is of the handmade variety.
They are also a B Corporation, which means that they strive to use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. That means that Uncommon Goods has met a rigorous standard on a wide range of issues, which includes the position on wage levels that I just mentioned, but also environmental impacts and ways they can give back to the community. If you would like to learn more about Uncommon Goods, their non-profit endeavors and what an over all great company they are, click here.
Are you ready to start holiday shopping? This site might be a great place to begin.
Disclosure: Uncommon Good sponsored this post, but all opinions are 100% my own. I totally shop there, I love their products, and I am going to buy myself that wine artwork. Mark my words. #love
