Where are they now? Catching up with the leftovers from other projects...

Remember my Franken Craft from a bunch of junk?
franken-bowl, trash to treasure, pearl, pedestal, beads, bowl
I took the lid from this wacky pot/dish and made it into the pedestal bowl.
lid, bowl, silver
I never did show you what happened to the “other half” of the bowl…
white, bowl, succulents, rocks

I spray painted the bowl with the ever popular Heirloom White from Rustoleum, popped in a few succulents and covered them with green rocks.  I topped the whole shebang with a sea shell. (Trying to make it tie in with my Mantel From Hell.)

This is my first time planting succulents...   There’s just something I don’t like about the word “succulents” ew.

Also, see those tall, blue doo-dads?
turquoise, finials, candlesticks, white, bowl, succulents

They are the same ones I made at Christmas time.
curtain rod finial, candlestick, ornament
Behold, the power of spray paint! They were given a light coat of my current favorite, Valspar’s Mediterranean.
I love being able to use the same things over and over again, don't you?

You are amazing. I love how you spray paint everything. I'm starting to become a believer. And now I even know the brand and color. Thank you for sharing that. I look at the cap and think, is this the right color?

Hurry and create something else. ha!

No joke. I went through a phase where I said "succulent" at every opportunity.

I like the fact that you used both parts. I love ornate metal, so the lid repurposing is my fave.

LOVE! I see all of those things at thrift stores and NEVER think to paint them and put them out... need to take some notes. Thanks for the great ideas!

I need to start looking at things the way you do, not see them as they are now but see their potential!

You're so good at it!

I love it all but I can't get past the "succulent."
It's gross. You're right.

Vivienne, way to be resourceful and use parts of pieces you didn't use in your initial projects. Great work and thank you so much for using Rust-Oleum to make your bowl shine.

The bowl looks amazing! And I have a can of Mediterranean myself :) Succulents? Reminds me of Succubus. Gross.

Currently I am living in a world of true Spray paint frustration... my local sources are getting rather light on any colors that one would have in their home.. thinking I might have to start decorating in " safety orange"!

Your succulents don't look sucky. They look really neat like that. You are the queen of reinventing something with spray paint. I am in awe.

I'm amazing, always, by your talent and the things you come up with. I love that "other half"...it's perfect.

"succulent" is a strange word and in no way sounds like what it actually is, what they happen to be though are my favourite plants because of their beauty in looking like an eternally opened flower

glad i found your blog!

Great job! It's amazing how paint can change the entire look of a piece. Love it!

You really can do anything with spraypaint! :) I stumbled this, too!

Love it! Succulent is a gross word - but they look really good!

Just wondering how the "hens and chicks" succulent is doing indoors? I've never had any luck with them inside. They multiply like crazy outdoors, and they are my favorite plant. Someone once told me that they do not do well inside and I'm just wondering what your experience is. Like I said, they are my favorite plant and I would love them inside!

You are so creative and funny! Succulent! I have succulents too!

Would be will to bet that if you had used the word "succulent" in your post title, the stat count would have been even greater that usual! ;)

Love this, I have kind of an obsession with succulents lately.

You're so super talented, Viv! I always love your creations. The "bowl" with the plants and rocks is one of my fav things you've made...so cool.

You're a spray painting genius.

Maybe I should have given you a can of spray paint in your goody bag?! :)

Miss you!! Wish we were going to Austin this weekend.

I love what you did with everything here, but most especially how you re-purposed the bowl lid and bottom. Both resulting pieces are lovely and unique!

OK you literally turned the world upside down. Never would have thought to use the lid as a bowl. Turned out SO great!

Looks great! I did something similar a couple weeks ago and my succulents are growing superfast. I might need to switch out the bowl!
