So when CSN stores offered me the opportunity to select, review and keep one of the many products they had to choose from, I knew exactly what I would review:
This.
Martin Sonne Premium Decanting Pourer
We all know there are different glasses for different wines. The big bowl shaped glasses for reds are designed to allow more air to hit the wine... thus helping it to breathe. The problem is, I am usually too impatient to wait for it to breathe. Mommy wants her wine and she often wants it right. now. There are lots of wine aerators that are just another gadget to have in a drawer. I know they are helpful and make a big difference in the wine, but I didn't want another gadget.
I'm so pleased that the aerator is built into the pourer. So instead of opening a bottle of wine and pouring it through a regular aerator I can open a bottle, pop on this pourer and have it sit there, all neat and tidy.
My BFF was over for dinner last week and we tried it out on 3 different, moderately priced reds: An old vine zinfandel, a cab, and a pinot noir.
(Don't judge... it was over a period of 6 or 7 hours. And besides... this was for science.)
There was a definite difference in the tastings with and without the aerator.
This pourer is small and compact, and it's super easy to clean. It's pretty handy dandy. There are a couple different versions and models of this pourer. I think this one is premium because the pourer is stainless steel instead of the lower priced plastic pourer.
I imagine that one would work equally well, but lets be honest... as often as I'm going to use this durability is an important consideration.
Mommy needs her wine.
And lets face it, if this little gadget can make a $15 bottle of wine taste like a $30+ bottle of wine, it's certainly worth investing in one.
So, two thumbs up for the Martin Sonne Premium Decanting Pourer.
Handsome Hubby, my photographer, thought if I had a little wine, he might get lucky...
He's so silly.
By the way:
CSN Stores have also recently launched a private sale site called Joss & Main.
It's mainly for home decor and accessories. Even though the prices are slashed to about half of what you'd pay in retail, it's still a little pricey for me.
However, I love looking at the items for inspiration! And the items for sale change on a fairly regular basis, and it is possible to get an absolute steal of a deal. You just need to check back on a fairly regular basis. Click here to sign up.
Cheers!

I didn't know Joss and Main was CSN!
I love CSN. :)
And I have no clue about anything about wines. I'm not that smartz.
But I like how HH was trying to stick his hand in your shirt and take a picture while you're texting or something. Pervert. lol
Sounds like this was made for you! I love the pictures of you. You should totally let HH get lucky :)
aerators are the best :)
i never wanted one... until we got one! totally amazing.
Umm...first of all, I can't even remember what this post was about because I caught myself staring at your teeny tiny arms, your super cute shirt, and your pretty red fingernails. And then I see a picture of someone trying to cop a feel of your boobie but I guess you were ok with it since you were laughing in the last picture. Or maybe you were drunk. Either way, it's a nice smile!
Yes! I too love CSN stores!! I have never used or even heard of an aerator for wine??!! Where have I been?? Sheesh!!! Great review and I learned something new today. Thanks!!

I need one of these!! My wine budget keeps getting smaller and smaller.
I'm with you on the aerators...it takes too long!
I'll be looking in to one of these but not until fall, I prefer my wine in the cooler months.
Speaking of cooler months...is it still snowing in Ca? Or are the snowflakes on the mirror there to represent that you were going to be a bit frigid after hubby tried to cope a feel?
You know I love you and that I'm just kidding right?
Now go take the snowflakes down or I'll be forced to visit your house after I go take down JK's Christmas/Valentines/St. Patty's day tree!
see, I like wine but never drink it...I even have a bottle of French wine that was given to me exactly 14 months ago...guess is time to open that bottle!
Yum- next time, can I be invited to the ahem, science experiment??

I love the picture sequence of you, it was like watching a commercial. Great modeling!
I don't drink very often, but a great glass of wine is DEFINITELY a good thing!!!
Oh girl! I hear ya, though I also have one diet soda a day! Awesome!
I have to say that you and I def have the same drink list and order! Except I do add another coffee in there later afternoon. Just poured my first glass of vino!
